On the night of the December 5th, we set out our shoes just like so many German children families. In fact, when we were little we thought that if we put out a bigger shoe, we might get a few extra treats. In the morning, we rushed downstairs to see if St. Nicholas had visited our house.
For a long time, I thought all Americans celebrated this holiday. It was only later when I was in German classes that I realized St. Nicholas Tag was a German tradition!
Happy St. Nicholas Tag!
