South Carolina is a unique state. Many European companies, German ones specifically, have chosen to invest in facilities here for the good of the state. German companies are major employers in the Palmetto state and have created over 28,000 job opportunities for workers at all levels. Companies like Bosch are vested in this state for a number of reasons and they are leading a new generation of workers to a bright future. One company specifically has created a workforce development program called, the COMPANY-Scholars, to provide students as early as high school with the opportunity to take on part-time apprenticeships while studying full-time. Apprenticeships allow people the possibility of building essential skills and gaining experience working in their industry of choice. Many times these apprenticeships lead to permanent positions and open up avenues for advancement. BOSCH has also created a strong human resource strategy to address the needs of inbound and outbound employee exchange programs. Employees coming to the States are offered professional advancement opportunities through English classes (ESL). Even their spouses can participate in these programs. Employees leaving the States to countries like China, Thailand, and Germany are also offered educational opportunities to prepare them for their assignments. Foreign language classes and cross-culture training is essential for integration purposes and overall success in a new business environment where communication and cultural understanding is crucial. With so many German companies and so many opportunities opening up in the Lowcountry and Upstate, CORE Languages has opened the doors to The Charleston Language Center to offer not only corporate foreign language services but foreign language classes to adults and students of all ages and levels. Whether you are looking for group foreign language classes, private classes, a tutor or culture classes, CORE Languages and The Charleston Language Center have it all!
