How to use comer in the affirmative commands
The commands are regular: come (tú), coma (usted), comamos (nosotros), coman (ustedes). Parents say come constantly, and hosts use coma or coman to invite guests to eat. Comamos is let's eat. Negative commands use the subjunctive: no comas tan rápido. With the reflexive, pronouns attach: cómete la sopa. At the table, hosts often add a little encouragement: Coma, coma, sírvase más, which is a warm, typical way of making a guest feel welcome.
