How peindre conjugates

Peindre is the model for verbs in -eindre (atteindre, éteindre, teindre). The singular present is je peins, tu peins, il peint. Wherever the ending starts with a vowel, the stem becomes peign-: nous peignons, ils peignent, je peignais, que je peigne, peignant. The future keeps the d: je peindrai. The past participle is peint. Be careful with peigner (to comb), a regular -er verb that shares some forms like nous peignons.
