Conduire conjugation French verb
Conduire means to drive a vehicle, and also to lead or take someone somewhere (conduire les enfants à l'école) or to lead to a result (cette décision a conduit à des licenciements). In France, 'driver's license' is le permis de conduire. Compound tenses use avoir: j'ai conduit.

How conduire conjugates
Conduire is the model for verbs ending in -uire. The singular present is je conduis, tu conduis, il conduit. The plural adds -s- before the ending: nous conduisons, vous conduisez, ils conduisent, and that conduis- stem is also used in the imparfait (je conduisais), the subjunctive (que je conduise) and the gerund (conduisant). The future is regular: je conduirai. The past participle is conduit, with a t. Construire, détruire, produire and traduire work the same way.

Mistakes to avoid
- Leaving out the s in the plural: it is nous conduisons and ils conduisent, not nous conduons.
- Spelling the participle without a t: it is j'ai conduit, not j'ai condui.
