How vincere conjugates
Watch the sound of the c: vinco and vincono have a hard c (like "VEEN-ko"), while vinci, vince, vinciamo and vincete have a soft c, and the subjunctive vinca is hard again. The spelling never changes. The imperfect, future and conditional are regular (vincevo, vincerò, vincerei). The participle is vinto, and the passato remoto has vinsi, vinse, vinsero with regular vincesti, vincemmo, vinceste. Convincere follows exactly the same model.
