How grandir conjugates
Grandir is a regular -ir verb like finir. The singular present is je grandis, tu grandis, il grandit, and the plural adds -iss-: nous grandissons, vous grandissez, ils grandissent. The -iss- stem gives the imparfait (je grandissais), the subjunctive (que je grandisse) and the gerund (grandissant). The future is je grandirai and the past participle is grandi. Many -ir verbs made from adjectives work the same way: rougir, vieillir, maigrir.
