How acheter conjugates

Acheter is a regular -er verb with a stem change. When the ending is silent, the e before the t takes a grave accent: j'achète, tu achètes, il achète, ils achètent, que j'achète, and the whole future and conditional (j'achèterai). When the ending is pronounced, there is no accent: nous achetons, vous achetez, j'achetais, acheté. Unlike jeter, acheter never doubles the t. Lever, mener and peser follow the same pattern.
