How jeter conjugates
Jeter doubles its t when the ending is silent: je jette, tu jettes, il jette, ils jettent, que je jette, and the whole future and conditional (je jetterai). When the ending is pronounced, there is one t: nous jetons, vous jetez, je jetais, jeté. This doubling is what makes the e sound like è. Appeler works the same way with ll (j'appelle), while acheter and lever use an accent instead.
