How aspettare conjugates

Aspettare follows the regular -are model: aspetto, aspetti, aspetta, aspettiamo, aspettate, aspettano. The future and conditional use -er-: aspetterò, aspetterei. The subjunctive and Lei imperative are aspetti, aspettino, which you hear constantly on the phone (Aspetti un attimo). The passato remoto is aspettai, aspettò, aspettarono, and the participle is aspettato. With aspettarsi, compound tenses switch to essere: mi sono aspettato.
