Bere conjugation Italian verb
Bere is irregular because it comes from the old form bevere: almost every form uses the stem bev-, as in bevo, bevevo and bevuto. It takes avere in compound tenses (ho bevuto). In everyday Italian, bere un caffè is the standard way to say "have a coffee".
- to drink
- irregular

How bere conjugates
Think of the infinitive as bevere and most forms fall into place: present bevo, bevi, beve, beviamo, bevete, bevono; imperfect bevevo; subjunctive beva; participle bevuto. The future and conditional are contracted with a double r: berrò, berrai, berrei, berremmo. The passato remoto has bevvi, bevve, bevvero (bevetti, bevette and bevettero also exist), with regular bevesti, bevemmo, beveste.
