How pagare conjugates

To keep the hard g sound, pagare adds an h before e and i: tu paghi, noi paghiamo, future pagherò, conditional pagherei, and subjunctive paghi, paghiamo, paghino. Before a and o the stem stays pag-: pago, paga, pagano, pagato, pagò. Everything else follows the regular -are model, so once you know where the h goes you know the whole verb. Spiegare, pregare and giocare (with ch) work the same way.
