How mettere conjugates
Mettere is regular in the present, imperfect, future and subjunctive (metto, mettevo, metterò, metta). Two things are irregular: the past participle messo and the passato remoto misi, mise, misero (the other persons are regular: mettesti, mettemmo). Compounds such as permettere, promettere, scommettere and smettere conjugate the same way.
