How costar conjugates

Costar changes o to ue when the stress falls on the stem: cuesta, cuestan in the present, cueste, cuesten in the subjunctive. Nosotros and vosotros keep the o (costamos), but you will rarely use them. All other tenses are regular -ar: costó, costaba, costará, costaría. In practice, learn cuesta, cuestan and costó first, plus the pattern me cuesta + infinitive.
