How estar conjugates

Estar is irregular mainly in three places. The yo form of the present is estoy, and most present forms carry a written accent (estás, está, están). The preterite uses the stem estuv- (estuve, estuvo, estuvieron) with no accents, the same pattern as tener. The present subjunctive is accented too: esté, estés, estén. The imperfect (estaba), future (estaré) and conditional (estaría) are regular. Learn estoy, está and estuve first.
