How vivir conjugates

Vivir follows the regular -ir pattern in every tense: vivo, vives, vive, vivimos, viven; viví, vivió; vivía; viviré; viva. Regular -ir verbs share most endings with -er verbs; they only differ in the nosotros and vosotros present (vivimos, vivís) and some commands. The accents carry meaning: vivo (I live) versus vivió (he lived).

  • Mixing -ar endings into -ir verbs: "vivimos," not "vivamos," in the present indicative.
