How to use vivir in the imperfect
The imperfect of vivir is regular: vivía, vivías, vivía, vivíamos, vivían. Use it to set the scene in the past: "Cuando vivía en el centro, iba en bicicleta." It describes where you used to live without stressing the end of that period. It is very common in personal stories and job interviews.

Cuando vivía con mis papás, no pagaba renta.
When I lived with my parents, I didn't pay rent.
Antes vivíamos más tranquilos.
We used to live more peacefully.
