How to use pasar in the imperfect

The imperfect of pasar is regular: pasaba, pasabas, pasaba, pasábamos, pasaban. Use it for what was going on in the background ("¿Qué pasaba?") and for habits: "Pasábamos los veranos en la playa." "Me pasaba lo mismo" means "the same thing used to happen to me," which is a natural way to show empathy.
