How poner conjugates

Poner is a "yo-go" verb: pongo, then regular pones, pone, ponemos, ponen. The preterite uses the stem pus-: puse, puso, pusieron, without accents. The future and conditional add a d: pondré, pondría. The participle is irregular (puesto), and the tú command is the short form pon. Compounds such as proponer, suponer, componer and disponer follow the same pattern.
