How to use cambiar in the preterite

The preterite is regular: cambié, cambiaste, cambió, cambiamos, cambiaron. Use it for a specific change (cambié de trabajo en marzo) and for how things or people changed: la ciudad cambió mucho. Always write the accent on cambié and cambió; without it, cambio is the present or the noun. Cambiamos is the same in the present and the preterite.
