How to use ofrecer in the preterite
The preterite is regular: ofrecí, ofreciste, ofreció, ofrecimos, ofrecieron. Use it for specific offers made at a specific time, especially jobs, deals and help: Me ofrecieron un aumento. With se, it describes someone volunteering: Se ofreció a llevarme. It is the natural tense for telling someone about a job offer you received.

Me ofrecieron un aumento, pero preferí cambiar de empresa.
They offered me a raise, but I chose to switch companies.
Mi vecino se ofreció a llevarme al aeropuerto.
My neighbor offered to take me to the airport.
Le ofrecimos un reembolso completo al cliente.
