How to use oír in the affirmative commands
Commands are oye (tú), oiga (usted), oigamos (nosotros) and oigan (ustedes). In practice, oye and oiga are mostly attention-getters: ¡oye, espérame! or oiga, disculpe. Oigan is the plural for groups. For 'listen to this', Spanish usually prefers escucha or escuchen. Negative commands use the subjunctive: no oigas, no oiga. In Spain, the vosotros command is oíd, with an accent. Pronouns attach to affirmative commands: óyeme, óigame, which add emphasis, as in óyeme bien (listen to me carefully).
Examples
Oye, ¿vienes a comer con nosotros?
Hey, are you coming to lunch with us?
Oiga, disculpe, ¿dónde está la salida?
Excuse me, where's the exit?
Oigan, ya llegó el pedido.
Hey everyone, the order's here.
