How acabar conjugates

Acabar is a regular -ar verb: acabo, acabé, acababa, acabaré, acabado. The key is the construction acabar de + infinitive, which uses the present (acabo de comer, I just ate) or the imperfect (acababa de salir, I had just left) for recent actions. With se and an indirect object pronoun, it describes running out: se me acabó la batería.
