How to use acabar in the conditional

The conditional is regular: acabaría, acabarías, acabaríamos, acabarían. It often means 'would end up', followed by a gerund: así acabaríamos peleando. It is also used for hypotheticals (con ayuda acabaría antes) and reported speech: dijo que acabaría hoy. With acabar con, it describes what someone would get rid of if they could. There are no stem or spelling changes in this tense.
