How to use tener in the conditional

The conditional of tener uses the same tendr- stem: tendría, tendrías, tendría, tendríamos, tendrían. It is common in polite requests ("¿Tendría tiempo mañana?"), in advice ("Tendrías que descansar más") and in hypotheticals with "si." "Tendría que" is a softer version of "tengo que," close to "I should." In the past, "tendría que haber..." means "I should have..."
