How to use acabar in the present
Acabar is regular in the present: acabo, acabas, acaba, acabamos, acaban. Its most important use is acabar de + infinitive for something that just happened: acabo de llegar, acaba de salir. Spanish uses the present here even though English uses the past: 'I just arrived'. It also describes how things end (la película acaba bien), and se acaba means something is running out or ending.
