How conseguir conjugates
Conseguir works like seguir, combining an e→i stem change with a spelling change. The e becomes i in consigo, consigues, consigue, consiguen, in the third-person preterite (consiguió, consiguieron), in the whole present subjunctive and in the gerund consiguiendo. The yo form drops the u before o (consigo), and the subjunctive is consiga. The imperfect, future and conditional are regular.
