How to use considerar in the preterite

The preterite is regular: consideré, consideraste, consideró, consideramos, consideraron. Use it for options that were weighed at a specific time (consideramos varias alternativas) and for past judgments: el juez consideró que no había pruebas. Remember the accents on consideré and consideró. Consideramos is the same in the present and the preterite, so context or time words show which one is meant.

I thought about quitting, but in the end I stayed.

  • El juez consideró que no había pruebas suficientes.
