How to use poder in the present subjunctive
The present subjunctive of poder keeps the stem change except in nosotros: pueda, puedas, pueda, podamos, puedan. It follows "cuando," "en cuanto" and "para que" with future meaning, and wishes like "Ojalá pueda ir." "Lo antes que puedas" is a set phrase meaning "as soon as you can." You will also see it after "es posible que" and "no creo que" when you doubt someone's ability to do something.
