How to use presentar in the preterite

The preterite is regular: presenté, presentaste, presentó, presentamos, presentaron. Use it for presentations that took place, documents that were submitted (presenté la solicitud) and introductions: me presentó a su familia. Se presentó can mean 'showed up' or 'introduced himself', and se presentaron problemas means 'problems came up'. Presentamos is the same in the present and the preterite, so look for time words like ayer or la semana pasada.
