How to use presentar in the imperfect
The imperfect is regular: presentaba, presentabas, presentábamos, presentaban. It describes past roles and habits (presentaba un programa de radio) and background situations: mientras presentaba, se apagó el proyector. Use it to set the scene, and the preterite for the event that interrupted it. The nosotros form presentábamos carries a written accent. It is also the tense for describing how a product or a candidate used to be presented to the public, compared with how it is presented now.

En la universidad presentábamos un trabajo cada semana.
In college we presented a paper every week.
Ella presentaba un programa de cocina en la tele local.
