How to use quedar in the imperfect
The imperfect of quedar is regular: quedaba, quedabas, quedaba, quedábamos, quedaban. Use it for background ("La tienda quedaba en la esquina"), for how much was left ("Quedaban pocos boletos") and for repeated stays: "Nos quedábamos en casa de mis tíos." It sets the scene before a main event in the preterite.
