How to use caer in the imperfect
The imperfect is caía, caías, caíamos, caían, with an accent on the í. It describes weather and background scenes (caía la tarde, caía nieve) and repeated events in the past: de niño me caía todo el tiempo. It is also how you say you used to like or dislike someone: al principio no me caía bien. Use the preterite for a single fall.
