How to use intentar in the present
The present is regular: intento, intentas, intenta, intentamos, intentan. Use it for things you try to do as a habit (Intento hacer ejercicio) and for effort happening now. Spanish often uses the present where English uses I'm trying: Intento entender qué pasó. Lo intento is a short, natural way to say I'll give it a go.
Examples
Intento hacer ejercicio tres veces por semana.
I try to exercise three times a week.
Intentamos responder a todos los correos en 24 horas.
We try to answer all emails within 24 hours.
No sé si podré, pero lo intento.
I don't know if I'll manage, but I'll try.
