How to use necesitar in the conditional
The conditional is regular: necesitaría, necesitarías, necesitaríamos, necesitarían. It softens requests and questions (necesitaría que me envíe la factura) and expresses hypothetical needs: con un bebé, necesitaríamos un carro más grande. Necesitaría is very common in polite business emails, where it sounds less demanding than necesito. It is also the natural tense for estimates in quotes and proposals: para este proyecto necesitaríamos dos técnicos y una semana. With si and the imperfect subjunctive, it describes needs in unreal situations: si viviera más lejos, necesitaría carro.
