How to use olvidar in the imperfect
The imperfect is regular: olvidaba, olvidabas, olvidaba, olvidábamos, olvidaban. Use it for repeated forgetting in the past (De joven siempre olvidaba las llaves) and in the polite formula Se me olvidaba..., Oh, I almost forgot..., which introduces something you nearly left out at the end of a conversation or email.
