How pagar conjugates

Pagar is regular in sound, but g becomes gu before e to keep the hard g. That affects the yo preterite (pagué) and the whole present subjunctive (pague, pagues, paguemos, paguen), which also gives the usted, nosotros and ustedes commands. Everything else is regular -ar: pago, pagaba, pagaré. Remember that pagar takes the thing paid directly (pagar la cuenta) and the person with a (pagarle al técnico).
