How to use preguntar in the present subjunctive
The present subjunctive keeps the regular stem with -e endings: pregunte, preguntes, pregunte, preguntemos, pregunten. You will use it after cuando for future time (cuando te pregunten, when they ask you), after para que, and after requests like quiero que. Cuando te pregunten is a very frequent piece of advice before interviews and meetings.

When they ask you about your experience, mention the Lima project.
Quiero que preguntes en tres tiendas antes de comprar.
I want you to ask in three stores before buying.
