How to use producir in the imperfect
The imperfect is regular: producía, producías, producíamos, producían. It describes past capacity and habits (la mina producía oro) and ongoing effects in the past: el ruido me producía dolor de cabeza. It is the natural tense for 'used to produce' when you compare how things were with how they are now. All forms carry an accent on the í, and there are no stem changes in this tense.
