How to use realizar in the conditional

The conditional is regular: realizaría, realizarías, realizaríamos, realizarían. Use it for hypothetical plans, formal proposals and polite questions: ¿cuándo realizaría el pago? It also appears in reported speech (dijo que realizaría los cambios) and in project descriptions: la obra se realizaría en dos etapas. There is no spelling change in this tense, because the z is followed by í. With si and the imperfect subjunctive, it builds unreal conditions: si tuviéramos los permisos, realizaríamos la obra en verano.

Examples

  • La obra se realizaría en dos etapas.

The construction would be carried out in two phases.

  • Con más personal, realizaríamos las entregas en la mitad del tiempo.
