How to use recibir in the preterite

The preterite is regular: recibí, recibiste, recibió, recibimos, recibieron. Use it to confirm that something arrived (sí, lo recibí), a standard reply to emails and deliveries, and for one-time events: recibió un premio. Recibimos is the same as in the present, so context or a time word like ayer tells you which is meant. Be careful to keep the b: recibió, never recivió.
