How to use terminar in the conditional
The conditional is regular: terminaría, terminarías, terminaríamos, terminarían. It works for hypotheticals (con más gente terminaríamos antes), for polite questions about timing, and for reported promises: dijo que terminaría hoy. It also appears in warnings about where a situation could lead: así terminaríamos perdiendo al cliente. Like the future, it simply adds endings to the full infinitive, so there are no surprises. It is also useful for a guess about the past: terminaría tarde means 'he probably finished late'.
