How to use utilizar in the imperfect
The imperfect is regular: utilizaba, utilizabas, utilizaba, utilizábamos, utilizaban. Use it to describe old habits, tools and methods you used to use, very often in contrast with the present: Antes utilizábamos fax. It is also the tense for background descriptions in a story, such as what equipment people were using when an accident happened.
