How convertir conjugates
Convertir is a stem-changing -ir verb with two changes. The stressed e becomes ie in the present (convierto, conviertes, convierte, convierten) and in four subjunctive forms (convierta). The e becomes i in the third-person preterite (convirtió, convirtieron), in convirtamos, in the imperfect subjunctive (convirtiera) and in the gerund convirtiendo. Sentir and preferir follow the same model.
