How to use convertir in the conditional
The conditional is regular: convertiría, convertirías, convertiríamos, convertirían. Use it for hypothetical transformations (si fuera mi casa, convertiría el sótano en estudio) and reported predictions: decían que se convertiría en una estrella. It is common in proposals that describe what an investment could achieve. As in the future, the endings attach to the full infinitive, so there is no stem change. With si and the imperfect subjunctive, it builds unreal conditions: si tuviéramos más espacio, convertiríamos el garaje en oficina.
Examples

If it were my house, I'd turn the basement into a studio.
Todos decían que se convertiría en una estrella.
Everyone said she'd become a star.
Con esa inversión, convertiríamos la planta en la más moderna del país.
With that investment, we'd make the plant the most modern in the country.
