How to use abrir in the conditional

The conditional is regular: abriría, abrirías, abriríamos, abrirían. Use it for advice (yo no abriría ese archivo), hypotheticals (si tuviera dinero, abriría un restaurante) and polite requests: ¿me abrirías la puerta? It is also how you report what someone said they would do: dijo que abriría temprano. Like the future, it attaches the endings to the full infinitive. There is no irregularity in this tense.

Examples

If I had the capital, I'd open a café downtown.
