How to use alcanzar in the present
In the present, alcanzar is regular: alcanzo, alcanzas, alcanza, alcanzamos, alcanzan. The z stays because it comes before o or a. A very frequent use is the gustar-like structure for having enough: No me alcanza, ¿Te alcanza para el taxi? You will also hear it for reaching things physically: No alcanzo el estante de arriba.
