How to use entender in the present subjunctive
The present subjunctive keeps the ie in four forms (entienda, entiendas, entienda, entiendan) and returns to e in entendamos. You need it after para que, after wishes and doubts (dudo que lo entienda) and with es importante que. Para que me entiendas is a very common way to start an explanation, much like 'just so you see what I mean'.
