How to use escuchar in the preterite
The preterite is regular: escuché, escuchaste, escuchó, escuchamos, escucharon. Use it for something you heard or listened to at a specific moment: ¿Escuchaste la noticia? It is very common for passing on information you heard: Escuché que van a cambiar el horario, I heard they're going to change the schedule.
