How to use escuchar in the present
The present is regular: escucho, escuchas, escucha, escuchamos, escuchan. Use it for habits, such as what music or podcasts you listen to, and for listening right now. On video calls, ¿Me escuchas? and No te escucho bien are essential phrases. In many Latin American countries escuchar has largely replaced oír in this sense of hearing, so you will hear both.

Can everyone hear me okay? I'm going to share my screen.
No te escucho bien; se corta la llamada.
I can't hear you well; the call keeps cutting out.
Mi hija escucha música mientras estudia.
